Getting up and heading off for a day Canoeing on some amazing lakes when I was camping in the middle of the Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario with my wife on our honeymoon in 1987.
What advice would you give to new first time campers ?
Enjoy every minute. Everything feels great in the end…
Any tips or tricks for kids who are going camping for the 1st time?
Pack your stuff well so you know where to find it. I try to keep different items in separate packs in my rucksack they’re easy to find.
What’s the best thing about being a Scout Leader?
So much to do and so much fun doing it. There is always another amazing thing to learn or do for the first time and when you see everyone enjoying it it’s just the best thing.
What’s the 1 thing you always take with you when you go camping?
My multi-tool penknife – never fails to be needed
