Quiet time is important too. Sometimes Scouts of all ages, including leaders should perhaps enjoy a few moments thinking about their journey in Scouting, our memories and those no longer with us.
Absolutely—beautifully said. Quiet reflection is so important and often overlooked. I really enjoy taking a bit of time out with a cuppa tea and a chocolate biscuit—or a Jaffa Cake or two! It’s a lovely way to pause, remember our journey in Scouting, and think about those special memories and people we’ve shared it with.
“Leave nothing behind…” – although, to be fair, that one is written down…
“Don’t walk across someone else’s site without asking” – a lot of Scouts and leaders these days seem oblivious to that one.
“Tents are not soundproof”. I got a round of applause the one time, as a young adult camping with my girlfriend at the time, I got rudely reminded of that one.
You can’t run around a campsite, you can only ran. Because it’s past tents.
