This weeks photo is a fellow Scout Leader from Trinidad.

I met Russel a number of years ago via social Media.

Russel is the International Commissioner for Trinidad and Tobago Scouts. I’ve chatted to him via Facebook and emails but never met him in person. It’s a strange feeling as we’ve never met before but we know so much about each other.

Russel came to my scout group on our last night before our summer break, it was a stop over for the International Commissioner as he is off to the Moot 2017. Which is held in Iceland this year. This will be the The 15th World Scout Moot. It is an official event of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), hosted and organized by the Icelandic Boy and Girl Scout Association, for young people aged between 18 and 25 inclusive.

It was great to finally met Russel, but thanks to the wonders of the Internet we speak virtually every week.

Trinidad and Tobago are sending 7 Rover Scouts to Iceland for the Moot 17.

There are approximately between 25 and 40 million Scouts in the world . This is not totally accurate due to the inability of many countries to complete an accurate.

There are only six countries which do not have some kind of Scouting organisation.

They are:

  • Cuba.
  • North Korea.
  • China.
  • Laos.
  • Myanmar.
  • and Andorra.
