I was lucky enough to be invited to NBC universal in London yesterday to watch a pre screening of a festive movie called “Better Watch Out” Staring Levi Miller as the lead role Luke and Olivia DeJonge playing Ashley the hot Baby Sitter.
It’s classed as a horror comedy but I’d describe it more as a dark thriller with some laugh out loud moments and a number of make you jump out of your seat and plenty of blood and gore scenes . I’m no horror fan at all. But watching the trailer it came across as a film I could stomach.
The opening scenes following a fairly typical home break in story-line: a twelve year old, Luke (Levi Miller), and his pretty babysitter, Ashley (Olivia DeJonge), are threatened by an unseen menace that warns ‘If U Leave, U Die”
The 1st 15/20 minutes of the movie is rather slow and then “boom” all of a sudden the movie twists and turns into a rather dark movie .
I don’t want to give anything away and spoil the plot of the movie.
I really liked how the movie had the classic Hollywood Blockbuster “Home alone” Staring Macaulay Culkin from the 90’s feel to it.
Having been in the same situation as the main Character Luke myself and fallen madly in love with my Baby Sitter just like Luke did. I would never of dreamed to get to third Base like Levi attempted to.
If you get a chance to see it. I would definitely recommend it and rate it 9/10
Btw it’s not a Christmas movie to sit on the sofa with the kids and snuggle up.
