This has to be 1 of my favourite camping tools that I always take when I’m away camping or even spending the day in the woods and have plans to make a brew.Using this bad boy is such a simple way to make tinder without a doubt.
Scouts often complain to me that they can’t find dry wood after its been raining. Using this simple tool can create dry shaving that can be used for tinder.
Its so simple but so effective.
Why do I use this? It’s great to make kindling shavings, when the wood is wet, simply start “sharpening” the twigs and you will get dry shavings, ready to start your fire. Maybe double these shavings with the Cotton wool tinder pads that I made .
